Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 1 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to mould cleaning and related services provided by Mould Stoppers Australia.

By accepting a quotation, making a booking, making payment, or otherwise instructing Mould Stoppers Australia to proceed with services, the Client agrees to these Terms & Conditions together with any quotation, scope of works, service description or other written conditions provided for the relevant job.

Where specific conditions contained in a quotation or written scope differ from these general Terms & Conditions, the conditions stated in the quotation or scope will apply to that particular service.

1. Quotations and Scope of Works

Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for 14 days from the date of issue.

Pricing is based on the information available at the time the quotation is prepared, including information and photographs supplied by the Client and any observations made during an inspection.

Our quotation will identify the areas and services included. Any area, item or service not specifically included should be considered excluded.

Where site conditions differ materially from those described or observed when the quotation was prepared, Mould Stoppers Australia may recommend a variation to the scope or price before additional work proceeds.

2. Mould Cleaning Services

The mould cleaning services offered through this website are intended for situations where mould growth can reasonably be addressed through professional cleaning of accessible surfaces.

Our services may include specialist mould-cleaning methods, work-area preparation, HEPA air cleaning, surface treatment, washdown, non-mechanical ULV air treatment and general observations regarding environmental conditions, depending on the service selected.

Mould cleaning is not the same as invasive mould remediation.

Unless specifically included in writing, our standard mould cleaning services do not include:

  • Removal of walls, ceilings, flooring or other building materials.

  • Investigation or treatment of concealed cavities.

  • Structural repairs or rectification of building defects.

  • Plumbing, roofing, waterproofing or HVAC repairs.

  • Laboratory sampling or mould identification.

  • Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) assessment.

  • Post-remediation verification or clearance testing.

  • Mycotoxin testing or assessment.

  • Rectification of moisture sources.

If we believe the conditions observed extend beyond the reasonable scope of a mould cleaning service, we may recommend that further investigation or other specialist work be undertaken before cleaning proceeds.

We will not knowingly recommend mould cleaning where we believe it is not an appropriate solution to the problem presented.

3. Environmental Conditions and Mould Recurrence

Mould growth is influenced by environmental and building conditions including humidity, condensation, ventilation, air-conditioning, moisture intrusion, water leaks and prolonged wet weather.

Cleaning mould does not remove or permanently correct these underlying conditions.

While our services are intended to leave treated surfaces visibly clean, we cannot guarantee that mould will not return where favourable conditions for mould growth remain or subsequently develop.

Recommendations provided regarding ventilation, humidity, condensation or moisture management are general practical recommendations unless a separate detailed investigation has been specifically engaged.

4. Surface Condition, Paint and Finishes

Mould cleaning involves physical cleaning and treatment of building surfaces.

The condition and durability of existing paint, coatings and finishes can vary considerably, particularly where surfaces are aged, poorly prepared, water damaged or have previously been repainted.

Cleaning may expose or contribute to deterioration of existing coatings that are already poorly bonded or defective.

This may include surfaces where:

  • appropriate surface preparation or cleaning was not completed before painting;

  • primer or undercoat was omitted;

  • insufficient paint coats were applied;

  • incompatible coatings were applied over existing paint;

  • water-based coatings have been applied over oil-based or enamel finishes without appropriate preparation; or

  • previous repainting has concealed existing staining or deterioration.

Mould Stoppers Australia cannot accept responsibility for failure, peeling, lifting, colour variation or deterioration of pre-existing defective coatings caused or revealed during reasonable cleaning procedures.

Some staining, shadowing, discolouration, corrosion or other cosmetic defects may remain after mould has been cleaned.

5. Access and Property Preparation

The Client must provide safe and reasonable access to the property and all areas included in the agreed scope.

Unless otherwise agreed, the Client is responsible for:

  • Providing access, keys, gate codes and alarm instructions.

  • Ensuring electricity and water are available where required.

  • Removing valuables, fragile items, irreplaceable belongings and sensitive personal items from work areas.

  • Providing reasonable access to walls, ceilings and other surfaces being treated.

  • Advising us of known hazards, damaged surfaces or unusual site conditions.

  • Ensuring pets are appropriately secured or removed.

Where excessive belongings, furniture, restricted access or other conditions prevent reasonable access to the nominated surfaces, affected areas may be excluded or additional charges may apply where additional preparation is requested.

6. Occupants, Pets and Other Trades

For safety and to avoid interference with treatment processes, occupants, visitors, pets and unrelated trades may be required to remain outside the treatment area or vacate the property for a nominated period.

The required vacancy or exclusion period will depend on the service being undertaken and will be stated in the quotation or provided before works commence.

Where the quotation requires the property to remain vacant during treatment, access will not be permitted until Mould Stoppers Australia advises that the relevant treatment period has been completed.

Clients should avoid scheduling other trades or activities at the property during the nominated works period unless this has been agreed with us beforehand.

7. HEPA Air Cleaning and ULV Treatment

Where included in the selected service, HEPA air-cleaning equipment may be operated during the works.

Non-mechanical ULV air treatment may also form part of our mould cleaning process.

ULV treatment is a supplementary treatment and is not a substitute for physical cleaning of visible mould growth.

Where a fogging-only service is selected, the Client acknowledges that visible mould contamination may require separate physical cleaning and that ULV treatment alone may not be appropriate where significant visible mould growth is present.

Re-entry instructions provided following treatment must be followed.

8. Hazardous Materials and Unsafe Conditions

The Client must advise Mould Stoppers Australia of any known or suspected hazardous materials or conditions at the property, including asbestos-containing materials, lead-based coatings or other hazardous substances.

Mould Stoppers Australia may suspend or decline work where:

  • suspected hazardous materials are encountered;

  • electrical, structural or other safety hazards are identified;

  • the work area cannot be safely accessed; or

  • conditions differ materially from those anticipated when the service was quoted.

Additional assessment, testing, removal or clearance by an appropriately qualified third party may be required before works can continue.

9. Photographs and Project Documentation

Mould Stoppers Australia may take photographs, videos and other records before, during and after the works for purposes including documenting site conditions, preparing quotations, recording the scope and progress of works, quality assurance, insurance or warranty documentation and maintaining business records.

The collection, storage and use of personal information and project images is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Any public marketing use of project imagery will be handled in accordance with the image and marketing provisions contained in that policy.

10. Booking and Payment

Payment requirements will be stated in the relevant quotation, invoice or online service description.

Where payment in advance is required, payment must be received in full before attendance is scheduled.

Services involving additional work or approved variations may be invoiced separately.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that payment information and billing details provided to Mould Stoppers Australia are accurate.

11. Cancellation and Rescheduling

We understand that circumstances change. Where possible, we ask that the Client provide at least 48 hours' notice if an appointment needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.

Where shorter notice is provided, Mould Stoppers Australia reserves the right to recover reasonable costs already incurred in preparation for the scheduled works, including allocated labour, travel, equipment, materials or other project-specific expenses.

Where works cannot proceed because access has not been provided, occupants or other trades remain in the work area contrary to agreed requirements, or the property has not been reasonably prepared for attendance, additional attendance or rescheduling charges may apply.

12. Variations and Additional Work

Work outside the agreed quotation or service description will not automatically be included in the original price.

Where additional mould growth, inaccessible areas, previously undisclosed conditions or other work is identified, we will advise the Client where practicable before undertaking additional chargeable work.

Any agreed variation may be confirmed by email, text message, updated quotation, invoice or other written communication.

13. Results and Service Limitations

Our objective is to professionally clean the surfaces and areas included in the agreed scope.

Results may be affected by:

  • the type and condition of the substrate;

  • existing staining or discolouration;

  • deterioration of paint or coatings;

  • inaccessible or concealed contamination;

  • ongoing moisture or humidity conditions;

  • building defects;

  • previous treatments or repairs; and

  • conditions outside our reasonable control.

Mould Stoppers Australia does not guarantee that treated surfaces will appear new or that all staining or cosmetic imperfections will be removed.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, no warranty is provided against future mould growth.

14. Health and Medical Matters

Mould Stoppers Australia provides mould cleaning and property-related services.

We do not provide medical diagnosis, medical advice or guarantees regarding individual health outcomes.

Where a Client or occupant has health concerns, they should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Statements regarding mould conditions or environmental observations are not intended to diagnose the cause of any medical symptom or condition.

15. Liability and Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

To the extent permitted by law, Mould Stoppers Australia is not responsible for loss or damage arising from:

  • pre-existing property damage or defective finishes;

  • concealed mould or moisture that was not reasonably observable;

  • structural defects or building failures;

  • recurrence of mould caused by ongoing or subsequent environmental conditions;

  • staining, discolouration or cosmetic deterioration that cannot reasonably be removed through cleaning;

  • inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the Client; or

  • events or conditions outside our reasonable control.

16. Delays and Events Outside Our Control

Mould Stoppers Australia will make reasonable efforts to attend and complete works as scheduled.

We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, equipment failure, illness, unsafe site conditions, restricted access, supply interruptions or other unforeseen events.

Where this occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the affected works.

17. Complaints and Concerns

If you have a concern regarding a service provided by Mould Stoppers Australia, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable so that we have an opportunity to review the matter.

We may request photographs, access to the property or other information reasonably necessary to investigate the concern.

18. Changes to These Terms

Mould Stoppers Australia may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices or legal obligations.

The current version will be published on our website.

The Terms & Conditions that applied when a service was accepted will generally continue to apply to that service unless otherwise agreed.

19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
